On-Going Exhibit: Rights of Passage, Memory of Palestine

    Sunday July 26 12-5

July 29 hours 12-6.  The Artist will be available Wednesday 4-6 w/small reception.

A multi media exploration of the artist journey using archival symbols, photographs and installation to map the artists  past.

Here is what Paul  Wahrhaftig wrote:

"This excellent art exhibit is on display at the Spinning Plate Gallery for the rest of July 2015. I visited the gallery Sunday and was deeply moved by the art of Samira Shaheen. The collection=of paintings, installation etc. focus on her continuing  attempts to understand questions of war and peace,  the plight of Palestinians, dealing with the occupation and the wall as well as documenting the immigrant experience.  The paintings are accompanied by an excellent written commentary to help you understand her search and the Palestinian realties.  The paintings, watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media, are good enough to stand on their own without a social message.  But with the Palestinian issues it becomes “must see,

Be prepared to spend a good while there as Samira will be in attendance each day that the exhibit is open.”
